Release information

This release introduces a new Smart Freight–compliant CO₂ engine, giving all Logivity services one consistent way to calculate shipment emissions. We've also modernised how Visibility and Real Emissions connect to carrier telematics - simpler onboarding, faster vehicle management, and more accurate emissions data.

What's new?

  • New Smart Freight–compliant CO₂ emission calculation engine
  • Vehicle type and fuel type replace Equipment Capacity
  • Emission data shown across Control, Loadboard and Emission Insights
  • Simplified, more secure connection for Visibility and Real Emissions
  • Separate selection of GPS-activated trucks and trailers to capture fuel consumption and/or visibility
  • Faster handling of large vehicle fleets

New Smart Freight - Compliant CO₂, Emission calculation engine

A new generic CO₂ engine brings Control, Loadboard, Emission Insights and Real Emissions onto a single, Smart Freight Methodology–compliant approach for road FTL and LTL shipments.

  • Three levels of accuracy - Level 1 uses default values, Level 2 the known vehicle and/or fuel type, and Level 3 the real fuel consumption reported from the truck for the highest accuracy. See pictures below.

Level 1 - Default values

Level 2 - Vehicle Type and Fuel Type inserted.

Level 3 - From PoA update, you get Real Fuel consumption

  • Automatic recalculation - Emissions are recalculated at key moments, shipment and offer creation, weight reported at pick-up, vehicle or fuel type updates, carrier bids, and (for Real Emissions) at Proof of Arrival.
  • Your work is never blocked - If a calculation cannot be completed, your action still goes through — emissions data is simply not updated and the issue is logged.
  • Sustainability data follows the shipments -  When a winning bid moves from Loadboard to Control, its emission, accuracy level, vehicle type and fuel type are copied across automatically.

Vehicle type and fuel type replace Equipment Capacity

Across shipment creation, transport status reporting and bidding, you now select a Vehicle Type and Fuel Type instead of Equipment Capacity.

  • Drop-downs are based on the applicable Smart Freight (GLEC) data for the region.
  • Selecting a vehicle type narrows the fuel type list to the applicable options. Both fields remain optional.
  • Your selections carry forward through the shipment lifecycle and are pre-filled at later steps, where you can change or remove them.
  • If no vehicle or fuel type is selected, an automated fallback on a standard parameter is used.

Emission data across Control and Loadboard

Emissions and the underlying input data are now visible across the screens you work with every day.

  • In the shipment creation flow and summary, transport status screens ("Pre Advise", "POP", "POA", "Report Equipment Number"), Create/Update Bid, and the Shipment List, Status and Bids screens.

Simplified and more secure connection for Visibility and Real Emissions

  • Carriers no longer manage telematics credentials - the connection is now handled centrally by Logivity, improving security and making onboarding simpler. If you're already enrolled, nothing changes for you.
  • Lays the groundwork to roll out Visibility and Real Emissions more broadly - new fleets plus added functionality like geofencing and a smarter ETA with real-time arrival alerts.

Separate selection of GPS-activated trucks and trailers

When reporting transport statuses, carriers can now choose a GPS-activated truck or trailer from dedicated lists, for clearer, more accurate tracking and emissions data.

  • Separate drop-downs for selecting a GPS-acitvated truck and trailer appear when reporting "Pre Advise", "Report container or equipment number", "Proof of pick-up" or "Proof of arrival". Selecting a vehicle is optional.
  • Entering the license plate activates Visibility and Real Emissions for the shipment and starts monitoring.
  • If both a truck and trailer are reported, Visibility follows the trailer; if only one is reported, that vehicle is used. Real Emissions is always calculated for the truck.
  • The trailer ID is now shown alongside the truck license plate.

Faster handling of large vehicle fleets

Carriers with large fleets can now manage their vehicles without the delays previously experienced.

  • Truck and trailer lists with 4,000+ vehicles load and can be managed smoothly, without long waiting times.
