What's new?

• Booking shipments in Control and adding shipment offers in Loadboard is now easier, with fewer mandatory fields for goods.
• As a shipper, you can now secure a unique shipment reference when a supplier/an external party books a shipment on your behalf

Booking goods details in Control & Loadboard with fewer details

As a shipper, you can now book a shipment in Control or add a shipment offer to the Loadboard specifying only the total weight of your goods. 

1. When adding a single transport unit (TU) to the shipment, the only mandatory field is weight. Length, width, height, and volume are optional, and if you enter the dimensions, the volume will be automatically calculated.
    
2. When adding a transport unit (TU) group to the shipment, the only mandatory field is TU group weight.  When adding transport units to the group, weight, length, width and volume are optional. If provided,  the TU group volume and weight will be automatically calculated. Total TU group volume can also be provided without the dimensions.
   
3. All the TU and TU groups will be automatically summarized to the total weight and when applicable volume for the shipment. 

Secure a unique shipment reference when shipment is booked on your behalf

As a shipper, you can now make the shipment reference number field as un-editable field in the shipment template. When the shipment reference is stored as un-editable, any reference populated will be removed.  Logivity will auto-generate an unique ID to all shipments missing shipment reference number. The unique shipment reference will enable to search for the shipment, reference it in communication and invoicing.

To configure this, go to your templates and choose the shipment template you wish to modify. On the shipment template "Carrier" step, locate the "Shipment reference #" field and click on the lock icon to lock it. The field will become un-editable for suppliers / external parties.
