Release information

September release includes new functionality in Logivity services and updates to our integration and integration documentation.

What's new?

  • Auto-generated shipment ID
  • Assign shipment templates to specific suppliers
  • Configure non-editable template fields
  • Integration - changes in how to subscribe to events (new subscriptions only)
  • Carrier Integration - Route shipment differently in your integration depending on the Transport Buyer

Auto-generated shipment ID

This improvement introduces an automatic generation of a shipment ID during shipment creation. If, as a transport buyer, you do not use shipment ID or have missed to add it during shipment creation, the system will generate it automatically for you, thus, enabling you to search for your shipment, reference it in communication and invoicing.

Assign shipment templates to specific External Parties

When configuring a new external partner, or editing an existing one, it is now possible to assign a specific shipment template to them. What this means is that your assigned external partner will only be able to create shipments according to the template you assigned to them.

To assign a template to your external partner(s), open "Settings" (1) and go to "External Partners" tab (2). Choose to add a new external partner (3) or edit an existing one (4).

In "External Partner" access rule "Shipment Creation" choose:

  • Assigned Template - which will allow you to specify which template external partner should be using
  • From Scratch - will allow external partner to create shipment with any data from scratch

Save your configuration and go to "Templates" section (1). Under "Shipments" tab (2), start creating a new template (3), or choose a template that you wish to assign to a specific external partner and click "Edit" (4).

In "Template Settings" section, choose an external partner that should be assigned to this template and save your changes.

You can assign more than one template to the same external partner, and you can filter shipment templates list to see which templates are assigned to which external partner. To filter for external partner assigned templates, open "Templates" section in your vertical navigation (1), go to "Shipments" tab (2), and choose an external partner you wish to filter for in the filter drop-down in column "External partners" (3)

Configure non-editable template fields

As a transport buyer working with external partners in your Logivity account, as mentioned above you can assign specific Control shipment creation templates to your external partners. Additionally, you can configure template fields that your external partners should not be able to edit.

To configure this, open the "Templates" (1) section and go to "Shipments" tab (2). Start creating a new template (3) or modify an existing template (4).

First, ensure your template is assigned to an external partner, instructions on how to do this you can find in the article section above

Once the template is assigned to an external partner, you will see "lock" icons appear next to each field in the shipment template.

  • A closed dark green lock means that this field will be non-editable for the assigned external partner
  • An open unfilled lock icon means the field is open for editing for the assigned external partner

These lock icons will be available for every field throughout the template, so that you can choose which template fields should be locked, and which should be editable for your external partners.

Changes in how to subscribe to events (Integration)

We have updated the way users should subscribe to the events via API integration. This change applies only to new users / new subscriptions.

If you already have an active subscription you do not need to make any changes.

For more information on how to subscribe to the events, please follow the instructions in our API Integration documentation:

https://api-doc.logivity.com/eventguide/eventguide.html

Route shipment differently in your integration depending on the Transport Buyer (Carrier)

In this release we introduce an improvement to sending the events. When, as a Carrier, you wish to receive events via integration only for a specific transport buyer, the new configuration will handle that. There are no changes required from carrier side. If you have any detailed questions regarding this function, please reach out to our support team.
