Introduction

This article describes how to apply templates when you create a shipment in Logivity Control and Loadboard services.

Prerequisites

To work with templates you need to have a "shipper" role enabled on your account, and ensure that you have templates created. For instructions on how to create templates please refer to this linked guide.

Instructions

Templates can be used during shipment creation process. To begin, click on "+ Create" in Control or Loadboard.

Shipment & Shipment offer templates

To apply a shipment template (Control shipments) or shipment offer template (Loadboard shipments), you will see a dropdown above the transport mode selection. Click on it and choose the shipment template you wish to use.

Template data will be populated. Check through the creation steps and simply fill in the missing information:

1. In Stops - add pick-up and delivery windows
2. In Carrier (Connect only) - add shipment reference and shipper reference if applicable
3. In Offer (Loadboard only) - configure bidding deadline

Once the missing details have been filled, click on create to send your shipment out to carrier(s).

Location templates

To apply a location template while creating a shipment, in the step "Stops" choose your template from the template dropdown. Location details will get populated with template data.

Contact person templates

To apply a contact person template while creating a shipment, in the step "Stops" click on "Add contact person details" (1) and from the "Select template" dropdown choose the contact person template you wish to use (2). Contact person information will get populated with the template data.

Transport unit templates

To apply a transport unit template while creating a shipment, in the step "Transport Orders", select a transport unit type (1) and then choose a transport unit template you wish to use from the "Apply template" dropdown (2). Transport unit details will get populated with template data.

Carrier templates (Control)

To apply a carrier template on a Control shipment, in step "Carrier" select your carrier template from "Apply template" dropdown. Carrier details will get populated with template data.

Carrier list templates (Loadboard)

To apply a carrier list template on a Loadboard shipment, in step "Offer" in "Carriers" section at the bottom of the page, click on "Select Carriers" dropdown (1) and choose the carrier list you would like to apply (2). Carriers from the template will be added to bid on your shipment.
